- Born and raised in Clontarf, where I live now with my wife Maeve and our three daughters.
- Educated at Belgrove National School, Coláiste Mhuire, and UCD. While at UCD I obtained a Bachelors of Commerce Degree.
Professional:
- For the past ten years I have had operated my own First Aid Supplies business that has been based in Balbriggan since 2002.
- Previously I worked in marketing and sales roles with Smith+Nephew, Cheseborough Ponds, and Irish Biscuits.
Political:
- Member of Fine Gael since 1981.
- First elected to Dublin City Council in 1999.
- Re-elected on the first count in June 2009.
- Served as the Fine Gael Group Leader for the Dublin City Council from 2004 to summer 2010.
Involvement:
- Served as a director of the Dublin City Enterprise Board for 9 years.
- Served as the first Chairperson of the Health Service Executive Regional Health Forum for Dublin and North East, 2006-2007.
- Former member of Dublin City Council’s Traffic and Transport Strategic Policy Committee and also the Planning, Development, and European Strategic Policy Committee.
- Currently a member of the Council’s Arts, Culture, Leisure, & Youth Affairs Strategic Policy Committee, and served as chair from 2006 to 2009.
- Currently chair the Dublin City Joint Policing Committee, the Protocol & Selection Committee, the North Central Area Committee, and the North Central Joint Policing subcommittee.
- Founder of Dublin Bay Watch in 1999 and currently chair the group. Working with me are Sean Dublin Bay Loftus, Liam O Dwyer, Joe Nolan, Mona O Leary, Peter Bailey, and Justin O Flaherty.
- Dublin Bay Watch successfully took cases to both the Ombudsman and the European Court of Justice concerning the designation of the Special Protection Area (SPA) in Dublin Bay. In June 2010, An Bord Pleanála refused the Dublin Port Company’s application to infill part of the north inner bay of Dublin.
- Chair a group to prepare and plan for a Battle of Clontarf Festival in 2014.
- Re-elected in 2009 to the Council of Local Representatives – a body representing Fine Gael councillors.
- Appointed to the European Union Committee of the Regions in 2010 by the Minister for the Environment and also is also a member of the Dublin Regional Authority.

- Value for money throughout Dublin City Council ensuring that charges, both household and commercial, are kept to a minimum
- That Dublin City Council employs the latest technology in delivering cost effective services to the people and businesses in Dublin
- That business finds Dublin City Council supportive with the provision of enterprise space, amenable planning conditions and the best hassle free service
- Proper planning and planning enforcement in Dublin City Council
- A future vision for Dublin Bay that commands the support of the people of Dublin
